🚀 How to Use
Save from Safari (Recommended)
- While browsing, tap the Share button
- Select “Static Reader”
- Confirm download
Save from the App
- Open Static Reader
- Paste URL in the text field at bottom
- Tap download button
Reading
- Tap any article to read it
- Tap screen to show/hide controls
- Related articles appear indented under main articles
⚙️ Settings
Tap the gear icon (⚙️) to adjust:
- Maximum Child Articles: How many related articles to download (default: 10)
- Maximum Images per Page: Limit images to save storage (default: 5)
- Debug Information: Turn on if you need help troubleshooting
🛠️ Common Problems
Downloads Don’t Work
- Check internet connection
- Make sure URL is correct (copy from Safari)
- Some websites block downloads - try different sites
No Images in Articles
- Check if “Maximum Images per Page” is set to 0
- Some websites prevent image downloads
- Very large images may be skipped
No Related Articles Found
- Make sure “Maximum Child Articles” isn’t 0
- Not all websites have related article links
- Only finds articles from same website
App Running Slow
- Reduce image and article limits in settings
- Delete old articles you don’t need (swipe left)
- Use WiFi instead of cellular data
🔒 Privacy
- All articles saved locally on your device
- No data sent to any servers
- No tracking or data collection
- Works completely offline after download
💡 Tips
- Use Share from Safari - it’s more reliable
- Download from article pages, not home pages
- Use WiFi for articles with many images
- Delete articles you’ve read to save space
